It was a great day for me because I learned a a lot. I caught my first shakey head fish (both of them.) I was using an 8" Zoom trick worm (brown) on the jig head. I learned that it doesn't take long for Bass to move "upstream" to areas that were high and dry just weeks ago. I also learned to not give up on a spot too early. Where Steve caught the Big Fish is one of my favorite holes but it had four other guys camped out on it when I arrived. They left shortly and the I assumed the spot was blown but I half assed fished it for about five minutes before giving up. When Steve caught up I suggested he give it a try and he fished it for another fifteen minutes before catching the Big Fish. I was stunned! Did I mention that I had been ahead up to that point? Oh well.

The bummer of the day was finding a 3 1/2 pound floater that had to have only expired within the previous day. The eyes were barely cloudy, It had a 6" blue Senko in it's throat that we easily removed. There may have been a hook in its stomach but it was hard to tell. We had a spirited discussion about the cause of death and what happens to fish that we all break off ocasionally for various reasons. I have pesonally caught a Bass with two Senkos in its throat that was alive and well (maybe not for long though.) Just food for thought.

And yes I did try fishing the blue Senko. I didn't catch anything but I'll be buying some anyway. Always learning.

Well, I had a blast as always. Kent can do no wrong, thats for sure. I can't write much at this time, as I am off to class tonight. I will give my report soon. That 3.5 we found dead would be a GREAT topic for future discussion at a meeting! Anyway I'm gonna be late to class, I'll post more in a few..........
