FISHING REPORTS: APR 19, 2008

Soulejule Lake

A lot of guys are doing really well up at Soulejule and have been for almost a month. Unfortunately they have also been doing really well at keeping it a secret. Last week pre-spawn fish up to 8 lbs were caught on deep diver cranks in either Crappie or Crawdad patterns by anglers working the left side of the lake from the dam and spawners up to 7.5 lbs with Senkos and Flukes, and dozens of ales in the 1-2 lb range working the right side from the dam and back.

Phoenix Lake

Water looks great. Plenty of 1-3 pounders in the shallows eating Senkos, Flukes, and drop shot worms. Not as many big fish like we had 2-3 weeks ago, but the coming full moon should bring up ore big females.

Nicasio Lake

Still fishing good with reports of fish up to 9 lbs and good numbers of 1-2 lb males in the shallows. Brush hogs, double wides, and chatterbaits are still producing, but the better fish are wised up a bit so for the bigger females your best bets are sunfish, bluegill, or crappie swimbaits, 5 and 6″ Senkos rigged wacky or Texas or big worms on a Texas rig like Maverick 8″ Shakers/Paddletails, Berkeley 10″ power worms, or Reaction Innovations “Big Unit”.
