Nicasio Lake
Nicasio is almost completely blown out right now. If you can get out of the wind you can get a good frog or Senko bite going. Also other guys are reporting a good dropshot bite, also if you can get out of the wind, and a good blades bite on windy shallow grass points. Look for the wind to start dying down over the next few days and if it does then spooks, frogs, and wakebaits will be deadly.

Alpine Lake
Bass fishing at Alpine has been fair to good as we transition from spawn to post spawn to summer patterns. As long as the wind is not out of control the fishing at Alpine should get better and better every day as more and more fish return from the post spawn malaise. Best bets would be a spook, a frog, and a buzz bait fished tight to the shoreline until the sun hits the water. Once the sun is up best bets are 5” Senkos Texas rigged and fished around lay downs, or drop shotting a 4” finesse worm near the dam.

Stafford Lake
Stafford is not as windy as Nicasio but it is still pretty blown out during the day. Best bets are 5” Senkos rigged wacky style with insert weights to beat the wind or a dropshot rigged 4” finesse worm with a slightly heavier weight than usual (1/4 oz – 3/8 oz) to beat the wind. Any day now a great blades bite should unfold in shallow grass getting hammered by the wind and if the wind dies down completely then topwater baits and frogs will be dynamite.

Kent Lake
Lots of good fish in the 2.5 – 4.5 lb range can be caught on unweighted trick worms, dropshotted Finesse worms, and Senkos.

Phoenix Lake
Big cruisers will suck up all your fishing time without a bite so I would dropshot finesse worms, wacky rig a senko, or texas rig a super fluke on 6-8 lb fluorocarbon or clear monofilament and fish stealthy as I can, being careful to stay off the bank and minimize any splash during lure entry. Remember these huge fish that you see are not spawning so don’t waste more than ½ hr on any one fish.
